Trump to Address GOP Convention Despite Assassination Attempt
Lawmaker Quips Biden Should Exit Race Tonight
Former President's Speech Highly Anticipated
Just five days after surviving an assassination attempt, a bandaged Donald Trump is set to address the final day of the Republican convention, delivering his first major televised speech since being shot.
The former president's speech on Thursday is perhaps the most anticipated of his political career. In an interview shortly after the shooting in Pennsylvania, he declared, "I'm not going to let these people get away with this. I'm going to keep fighting for the American people."
A Democratic lawmaker who wants Biden to exit the presidential race quipped that he should do so "tonight at 908 pm," which is around the time Trump is scheduled to speak.
