What is Clotrimazole?

Clotrimazole is an antifungal medication used to treat vaginal yeast infections. It works by killing the fungus that causes the infection.

How to Use Clotrimazole

Clotrimazole vaginal cream or tablets should be inserted high into the vagina once daily, preferably at bedtime. The usual course of treatment is 3 to 7 days. It is important to complete the full course of treatment, even if the symptoms improve, to prevent the infection from coming back.

Side Effects of Clotrimazole

Clotrimazole is generally well-tolerated, but some side effects may occur, such as:

• Vaginal itching
• Burning or irritation
• Pelvic pain
• Nausea
• Vomiting

Precautions
