Liverpool suffered a blow in the Premier League title race as they were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. The only goal of the game came in the first half when Joel Matip turned the ball into his own net following a cross from Son Heung-min. The defeat leaves Liverpool six points behind leaders Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
15 players made the switch directly
A total of 17 players have now played for both Tottenham and Liverpool, with 15 of them making the direct switch between the two clubs. The most notable names on that list include Robbie Keane, Paul Ince, and Danny Murphy. However, only one player has ever scored for both clubs in the same Premier League season, with Darren Bent achieving that feat in 2007/08.
